About PluginCMS

PluginCMS is created and maintaned by Emil Gustafsson. I decided to create this site when the number of GeekLog plugins I created started to adding up. I was also missing complete translations of GeekLog into swedish.

Why GeekLog?

When I first started to look for a CMS (Content Management System) to use I had four requirements:

1. Advanced security model.
2. Easy to make my own plugins for the CMS.
3. Template support to make sites look like I want them to look like.
4. The CMS should use PHP and MySQL.

Template support is one thing all CMS's I looked at support. A CMS without template support is a really stupid idea. Of all CMS's I tried out only Geeklog and PostNuke seamed to fit my needs and since I couldn't figure out instantly how the PostNuke permission model worked I immediatly started to look into GeekLog Plugin development. I found enough information to be confident GeekLog probably would be a really good choice for my sites.

That is why PluginCMS is dedicated to GeekLog.

GeekLog in swedish?

Working with Geeklog for a few years I've been glad only a small number of sites I have created have demanded swedish language support. So for some time I have planned on creating a better and more complete translation of GeekLog.

At one point I was planning on making my own CMS framework so I registred a couple of domains (plugincms.com plugincms.net plugincms.org plugincms.se) but when I became even more convinced GeekLog would fit my needs i the future I thought I could use the domains for this site. All four domains point at the same GeekLog installation but as a twist i made swedish the language for anonomous users visiting plugincms.se.

PluginCMS will be used to distribute the public version of my plugins and at least some swedish translations for GeekLog. That is the purpose of this site at the moment.
